Solitaire of Solitude released!

Solitaire of Solitude for iPad has just hit AppStore!

Solitaire of Solitude

Solitaire of Solitude is a card and dice game of defriending your friends. It was originally developed in Ludum Dare 22, a 48-hour game development event, and afterwards polished and ported to iPad.

How’s the game played?

First you choose a themed deck (people, animals, mythological monsters or Diamond Miners, plus there’s an unlockable bonus deck) and a difficulty level.

You are dealt five cards and three ‘Resource’ dice. You use the Resource dice to pay for your friends abilites, such as ‘Defriend one friend’ or ‘Reroll’. Once you have used some of your dice (and thus freed them up) you may use your friends’ ‘Tilt’ abilities to bring in some specific resource. If you run out of options, you can always reroll all your three dice, but then you lose a point and get a new friend, or discard one from the top of your deck if you already have the maximum amount.

If you manage to defriend all your friends from the table, your win. If you go down to 0 points, or your deck runs out of cards and you can’t defriend everyone left, you fail.

There are a couple of videos available on YouTube. The game also features GameCenter achievements and leaderboards.

The Game Dice Roller app released!

The Game Dice Roller

Today we released a dice roller app. Really. Just another dice roller app, to complement the approximately ten million dice roller apps already in the AppStore.

Why? Because we could. Well no, that’s not exactly it, though that’s a part of if. Some time ago we reviewed a few free dice apps in the AppStore, and found out that none of them suited our needs perfectly. Some were too simplistic, while others were too complicated for our needs. So, we decided to make our own, for our own selfish needs, and then share it.

It’s free (it has those pesky ads enabled), it’s pretty, has a couple of useful features and we will update it regularly with new features - which you are welcome to suggest, just send a message to info@ifelsemedia.com. If it isn’t too time-consuming to implement, the feature might even actually appear in the next update!

Here’s a rundown of the current features:

  • 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20  and 100 sided dice
  • Roll history
  • 6 ‘tables’, each have their own dice settings and roll histories
  • Max 20 dice at a time (per table)
  • 6 themes
  • Individual dice on the table can be locked (touch) or removed (hold touch)

Go check it out @iTunes!

Meteor Impact released!

So, today we released our first game in AppStore.

Meteor Impact

Meteor Impact is a Missile Command -type game with vector-like graphics and physics gameplay. Tap the screen to launch missiles and kick some meteor butt! There’s also a bonus wave that’s worth double score, but it’s kind of hidden, so we leave it to you to figure out how to get there…

Check out the game’s website or itunes page for more info and some screenshots.

Here’s a rundown of the GameCenter achievements:

Achievements

For the competitively minded there’s also a GameCenter leaderboard.

Oh, and it’s completely free. Go give it a try.

Free iOS Dice Apps for RPGs

iPad vs. Dice

A few days ago we decided to introduce one our team members to the wonderful world of tabletop roleplaying games. Everything was set up, we had the books, character sheets, pencil and paper - but no dice! No problem, we though, there must be a hundred free dice apps for our iPad and iPhone. There was, but only a handful that suited our purpose, and none that was perfect for our needs.

Just in case someone else is also hunting for the perfect rpg dice app, here’s an overview of a few apps that we found useful.

We’re live!

Well, almost. We still need to get a couple of licenses before we can move at full speed, but we already have several titles well in the production pipeline, ready to hit AppStore before holiday season.

Because our development is still somewhat handicapped (probably for another week or so), this is the perfect time to write down some blog posts, build up our website and flesh out the company’s vision.

We’ll publish some information about our ongoing projects in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, check out our new fledgling website and our facebook page!
